On the evening of Saturday, May 18, 2019, Dorothy C. Copeland was called home to rest in the arms of the Lord. Dorothy was born on February 15, 1941 to Roy and Viola Cobb. She graduated from Crestwood High School in 1959. She furthered her education by getting a degree in Business in 1961. She worked as a paralegal for 15 years, and later became a joint business owner of Copeland Trucking Company from 1977 to 2017.
Dorothy was known for her angelic voice and her friendly and easy going nature. She had love for her family and it was especially displayed through her grandchildren; in which they affectionately called her Mimi. Dorothy was a faithful and dedicated member of New Hope Baptist Church, where she served as a Missionary and sang the songs of Zion in several choirs.
Dorothy is predeceased by her father, Roy Cobb, and her husband of 51 years, Linwood L. Copeland. Jr. Left to cherish her memory, her mother, Viola G. Cobb; a son, Linwood L. Copeland, III (Sharon), a daughter, Dorla Copeland Herring (Sidney); 5 grandchildren, Heather Herring, Taylor Copeland, Cassie Herring, Kaitlin Copeland, and Dallas Copeland and, one great grandchild, Chase McNeil. Dorothy is greatly loved and will be missed by all.
