He started watching wrestling at the age of 4 on World of Sports and discovered WWE wrestling at the age of 8 when Sky TV was introduced in Ireland. Finn was instantly blown away by the characters played by the athletes.Finn’s parents and friends thought that his obsession with wrestling was just a phase that he will eventually outgrow.Since the sport of wrestling was non-existent in Ireland, Finn briefly considered becoming a ringside photographer to get involved in the business.While studying in high school, Finn was skilled at soccer and rugby and could easily pick up the nuances of any other sport quickly. He later gained a first-degree black belt in IBF submission wrestling, which is a form of mixed martial art and described as combat wrestling.He quit soccer to become a full-time pro-wrestler at the age of 18.At the age of 20, he started his wrestling school and promotion in Ireland with a partner named Paul Tracey, which was affiliated to the National Wrestling Alliance.
