Ryan ONeals Son Claimed Dad Tried to Marry Farrah Fawcett before Her Death to Be In Her Will

One of Ryan O'Neal's kids revealed explosive details about his dad's love affair with Farrah Fawcett years after her death. He alleged that Ryan was not as in love with Fawcett as he claimed and only proposed to inherit from her will.

Farrah Fawcett was a prominent actress who appeared in TV commercials in her early years in the industry. She became famous for her iconic, rich blonde hair and infectious smile that displayed her perfect snow-white teeth.

Apart from her mastery in acting, her charming looks were her other vital point that was hard to miss. Fawcett grew in fame and fortune, attracting many fans across the country.

She married Producer Lee Majors, but their marriage was cut short by an intruding family friend named Ryan O'Neal. The "Charlie's Angels" star later divorced her husband and continued her love life with his friend.

However, the pair never shared wedding vows. Remaining unmarried did not take away from their love for each other, and only death came between them in 2009, when Fawcett succumbed to her battle with anal cancer.

After her demise, people discovered that she left her estate to their only child, Redmond. Her decision left fans of the iconic couple wondering why, but in recent times, an insider revealed more shocking details surrounding this decision.

FAWCETT'S LONG-TERM RELATIONSHIP

Fawcett and Ryan had a unique relationship. First, it was perfect; they loved each other and were an admirable couple in the industry. But then, it became messy due to infidelity and immaturity from the actor's end.

The duo separated in 1998, but they reunited in 2001 following Ryan's leukemia diagnosis. His lover stuck by his side, offering companionship and care.

Five years later, the tables turned. Fawcett was diagnosed with anal cancer, and as expected, Ryan took care of her, attending to her needs.

FAWCETT'S FINAL DAYS

In 2009, a few weeks before her passing, Ryan explained that the procedure, from treatment to caregiving, is nothing like a walk in the park.

He also added that Fawcett is a strong woman for confidently sharing her cancer episode with the world through a documentary titled "Farrah's Story."

Thankfully, she was surrounded by friends and family, including their son, who visited her in a jail-issued jumpsuit to bid her his last farewell.

Ryan tried to keep a positive mindset synonymous with Fawcett but found himself lacking. He tried to be a friend, enthusiast, lover, and even husband. A few weeks before Fawcett's death, he proposed to her.

The couple would have become husband and wife if she had continued breathing a little longer. Instead, shortly after he invited a priest to officiate their union, she stopped breathing, and the cleric administered the last rites instead.

Ryan spent time cuddling the only woman who was said to be the love of his life. He said he felt her pulses, rubbed her hand, wrapped her around his body before admitting the loss.

WAS RYAN THE BENEFICIARY OF HER ESTATE?

Many would have thought that with how Ryan and the actress loved each other during her lifetime, she would not mind transferring her fortune to him. However, this notion was far from the truth.

The "Charlie's Angels" alum left her fortune to their only heir, Redmond Fawcett O'Neal. However, there was a clause attached to it, and it was left in the care of her producer. She also gave huge funds to two of her relatives but left nothing to Ryan.

An insider explained that the dying woman was not as unconscious as people believed her to be, and there was something unclear about the nature of things between the iconic couple.

In the end, Fawcett's wishes were honored and respected by all and never contested. After the content of her will was made public, Ryan explained that he knew about her decision to make Redmond the primary beneficiary.

He added that their love was deep, which commanded respect between both parties. Ryan revealed that their mutual respect was why they had an intimate discussion about Fawcett's finances before concluding that everything should go to their only child.

RYAN O'NEAL AS A FAMILY MAN

It was no secret that Ryan had divorced two times before meeting his beloved Fawcett. He already had four kids from two failed marriages had the fifth with the on-screen diva. However, while he did not mind creating a larger family, he was not an excellent parent or lover.

During an interview with the late legendary TV host, Larry King, Ryan's son Griffin candidly revealed some truths while making some clarifications on his relationship with the man he called father.

According to Griffin, his dad failed as a lover and never wholly committed himself to his romance with Fawcett. The actor's son explained that Ryan's infidelity was no news, even to his lover.

He added that she caught him red-handed. King inquired about the credibility of this story, and his guest added that his mom told him she caught Ryan cheating after he forgot she had the remote to the garage. He thought he had locked the whole house.

Concerning his relationship with the actor, he confessed that they are not on talking terms and have had bad blood following an unbelievable situation between them.

Griffin stated that his younger half-brother, Redmond had difficulties getting into detox centers in Los Angeles because their father couldn't pay for the treatments.

Consequently, the responsibility rested on him, who had a wife and a family. It was not that he could not handle his brother, but Griffin was not impressed with his dad's negligence.

Unfortunately, a conversation to address Griffin's concerns did not go as planned. Instead, it deteriorated into violence. The young man alleged that his dad poked him with an object, tried to shoot him, and the scuttle injured his pregnant wife, Jo-Jo.

The cops intervened, but Ryan was never charged, although he was arrested. Griffin admitted to his father's aggression but added that there was no evidence to prove how Jo-Jo got wounded.

While Griffin remains uncertain about the extent of his dad's inclusion in hurting his pregnant wife, he is sure about the man's neglect of his deceased lover.

He did not think that Fawcett was loved sufficiently by the man who claimed to be her knight in shining armor. Neither did he think Ryan's marriage proposal was genuine towards her death.

The younger O'Neal also mentioned that the actor only aimed to be in Fawcett's will and was not concerned about his longtime lover. He said:

"My dad's only goal was to make sure he would be in the will. It was so disgustingly transparent as soon as he found out she was terminal. I consider him a vulture presiding over a carcass..."

Fawcett may not have had the best relationship, but her love story is captivating. While there would continue to be Griffin's side, Ryan's, and the truth, many would want to remember her as the talented actress whose legacy lives on decades after her demise.
