The Young Bucks recently went sneaker shopping with Joe La Puma of Complex. The former AEW World Tag Team Champions hit up Flight Club on Broadway in NYC. They left with several new pairs of sneakers and a huge hit to their credit card bill. The Bucks spent $9,439.53 on shoes during the shopping spree.
They took home a pair of Air Jordan 11 Lows in “Legend Blue” for $320. The Ben & Jerrys x Nike SB Dunk Low “Chunky Dunkys” cost them a cool $2,147. Almost $4,000 went towards a pair of additional collab sneakers. For $1,889, they grabbed Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low in “Mean Green” and the Travis Scott x Fragment x Air Jordan 1 Low at a price of $1,982.
The Young Bucks are well-known for their sneaker collections. In the interview segment of the Complex video, they discussed the origins of their sneaker fandom. They said not being able to afford shoes as kids made them enjoy buying so many as successful adults, according to Matt Jackson.
“Being 90s kids, it was all about Michael Jordan. We just wanted to be Jordan. And we were poor kids and couldn’t afford any of the shoes. So we’d see all our friends wearing [Jordans] and would be so jealous. So now we’re like, ‘We can afford these shoes that we used to really want as a kid? Let’s buy all of them!'”
Now that they’re EVPs at the second largest wrestling promotion on the planet, Matt and Nick Jackson have taken their sneaker game to another level. While they credit Shane McMahon as the OG wrestling sneakerhead, they say they’ve taken it to another level. They have even playfully trolled the NXT roster over their sneaker game in the past.
Matt Jackson famously documented the theft of his $6,000 Nike Dior Jordans on Being the Elite. The Young Bucks spend some serious money on sneakers. Sometimes, they even pay retail.
